Skål International Germany

A very successful German National Skål Day

Themed “Sustainability in Tourism” Skål International Germany organised this year's German Skål Day on 28 May in the science town of Darmstadt. Approximately 150 Skålleagues from all 32 German Clubs used the member's meeting which offered a full programme on the Saturday afternoon. However, besides interesting talks, panel discussions and company presentations enough time was left for networking and chatting. The event was hosted by Assistant Secretary, Ernst Burgbacher, speaker on tourism matters for the German Federal Government. An amazing evening event in the former Marstall of the Castle Kranichstein made an excellent background for this year's Skål Award Ceremony. The German Skål Award was presented to Frederik Braun who runs the Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, the biggest model railway in the world, with his twin brother Gerrit.

The 2012 German Skål Day will take place in Hamburg.
