Skål International Brisbane

This is a follow up about the tourism books being donated to Holmes Institute in Brisbane. Skål International Capricornia and Skål International Brisbane worked together to make a sizable donation to a hospitality school in Brisbane. The Brisbane club sponsored the transportation of over 240kg of books to Brisbane (from Rockhampton) and hosted the handover function. The extensive collection of over 500 books and journals (on tourism, hospitality, research methods, and teaching tourism) now have a new home, after a successful and enjoyable handover ceremony at the Holiday Inn Brisbane, on Thursday 8th April. Ms Vaishali Salao, the Campus Director for Holmes Institute in Brisbane and her team were most appreciative of Skål Capricornia’s donation to her organisation and stated that the books were “going to a good home” where the students and staff will benefit from the addition to their library. All the books were labelled with information about Skål International Australia and it is hoped that reaching out to students entering the hospitality and tourism field may have a long term awareness benefit for Skål in the future.
