The Skål Clubs from Nordic and Baltic areas gathered together for their biannual conference in Helsinki (Finland) and Tallinn (Estonia) from 21 to 23 August 2009. This was a historical get-together as for the first time ever Skålleagues from Tallinn and Riga (Latvia) were invited to join their Nordic Skålleagues and maybe to unite as an Area! Area Committee Norden (ACN) was also voting for a new President and Secretary for years 2009 - 2011.

The meeting started with a welcome party in Helsinki on Friday from where the almost 40 conference participants travelled to Estonia by a night ferry. On Saturday all delegates were taken for a very inspirational and well conducted sightseeing tour of Tallinn followed by the meeting chaired by former Skål International President Mr. Birger Bäckman. The meeting room was full of new and old Skålleagues that were actively discussing the future of Norden and Baltic areas. Among the participants were former Skål International President Mr. Jan Sunde, all Skål International Nordic Councillors and Club representatives from Tallinn and Riga.

The newly elected President for ACN is Mr. Peter F. Holst, presently Vice President from Skål International Oslo, Norway. Mr. Roald Karoliussen from Norway will be the new secretary of ACN.

The conference also voted in favour for attaching Skål Clubs from Riga and Tallinn to Area Committee Norden. This decision is yet to be blessed by Skål International Executive Committee. The next conference will be held in Oslo, Norway in 2011.
