NAASC Skal Congress Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

The NAASC Skål Congress was held recently in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The Congress was attended by Skål International President, Tony Boyle and Skål International Vice Presidents, Enrique Quesada and Mok Singh along with 192 Skålleagues from Canada, USA, Mexico, Turkey and Bermuda. The Opening Ceremony was impressive with the flags of Skal International, Mexico, USA and Canada being paraded in the auditorium by Mexicans on horseback. A band from the Mexican military played the national anthem of Mexico and the Mexican flag was presented by military personnel in spectacular fashion.
The Skal Clubs of Mexico, USA and Canada held a series of meetings during the Congress that were very well attended and many new initiatives were adopted. The key focus was membership development and Skålleagues at the conference discussed various strategies to increase membership in their region.
The programme was excellent and included a cocktail function in the city square of Puerto Vallarta hosted by the Mayor of the city and delegates enjoyed some amazing cuisine at various restaurants on one of the evenings. The farewell function was outstanding with a gourmet dinner under the stars by the pool at the Fiesta Americana Hotel with magnificent music provided by a military band along with a number of stunning musical and cultural performances and also fireworks.
The 2012 NAASC Congress will be held in Bermuda.
